But lot people experience says that they are not good companion. So can somebody suggest me some good fish which can go with guppies or betta. I am ready to go for one of them

The only other fish I might recommend for an 8gal are neon tetras or white cloud minnows. Maybe 2-3 male guppies and 5 neon tetras would be lots for that tank. Or one betta and the neons. I would go with guppies if you want variety - there are many different colours of guppies.

I agree with male guppies and some neon tetra!Or a betta and neons.
There really isn't much room for anything else.

Go with a group of 10 fancy guppy and a few smaller cory [2-3 pygmy or dwarf] for clean up.

I wouldn't put a betta in with male guppies. The betta is likely to go after the large fins of the guppies.

I would go with guppies and some corries.
