:help: :help: ok i know this is rare and i feel really bad but i injured my favorite fish. i went to feed them and as i took off the plexi glass the one corner dipped into the water and scratched my angel. he dont look to be hurt bad it just looks like it rubbed off the scales accross his body below his dorsle fin. as soon as it happened i inspected him and added melafix to the tank.

Is there anything else i could do to help him. what should i be looking out for please :help:

The best cure for that is clean water!
It should be fine! My oscars get worse than that every day.It'll be gone soon!lol

agreed. healthy fish in a good environment will heal from that fairly quickly.

Clean water is definitely the best for them. If you are still worried about it, depending on what other fish are in the tank, a small dose of Melafix would help to prevent secondary bacterial infections.

I agree. I think you did the right thing. Like the others said, keep the water clean and keep an eye on him.

Sorry. I'm sure you felt just aweful about it. With any animal, the hardest part is you can't really explain it to them.

I wish you could have seen one of my angels that got trapped behind the heater and burned his side. Actually, I don't know if he was trapped or just didn't feel his skin being burned. It took about 5 months to heal. Your fish is fine. The skin isn't even broken.

thank you all very much. ill keep the water as clean as possible. and keep up the melafix for a week. and yea jaster thank you for the complement i love this angel i have had him the longest out of all my fish
