I treated my tank with coppersafe (for ich), I removed my dwarf frog and 2 snails - now I am reading that cory cats should not be in it????? The more I read the more I am regretting this method! What should I do - will a water change help at all at this point?:ambulance:

I don't know much about that med but if you read it is not good for corys then you should believe that, If I were you I would do a water change of at least 50% and two more one tomorow and the other in 3 days.

the copper will permeate everything in the tank, the snail will die if placed back in that tank no matter how many water changes you do.
My daughter had a 55 given to her, the tank had been treated with copper at some time in the past.
After 4 months of weekly 50% wc snails would die within 8 hours of being placed in the tank.
I purchased some cuprasorb by Seachem, after 2 weeks we put mystery snails in, they are doing fine.
There is a possibility that the substrate and decor has not absorbed much copper yet, several large wc might clear enough out, but I doubt it

Coppersafe is safe to use with UV Sterilizers, Protein Skimmers, Wet/Dry and Diatomaceous earth filters. After treatment, Coppersafe can be removed from the aquarium by water changes, fresh activated carbon or other chemical filtration resins/pads.
I picked that up from their website - everything about this product is confusing. I have articles that state cory's will die, others said they have been fine....mine are fine as well. Apparently this is a chelated copper that is different from other "copper" products?? I don't know - but I will never use it again regardless.
