i have had a problem with fish lice this year, it is apparently a very rare parasite that frogs can bring to your pond.Well i was lucky enough to get this terrible thing this year.I found a medication called trichloricide that is very strong, it is actually illegal in some states, well i used it for 5 weeks straight about 3 months ago, it did kill the lice.Well i was outside yesterday and noticed those little bas#*~ds are back eating my fish again!!! These things attatch themselves to the fish and chew holes in their bodys, then the fish will get ulcers and split fins and such.Does anyone know of any treatments that might work better, remember i have about 5,000 gallons to treat, i dont have a smaller place to put all my koi, but whatever it costs i will do it, thanks for any help:scry:

Ok, i checked on anchors away and trichloricide and all fish stores that i talked to around the US said trichloricide was much better, but you say anchors away worked well for you. When u used it were u able to touch your water, i was told that tri. gives u cancer if u touch it, so to me that cant b good for the fish. And with the treatments did you do 25% waterchanges every week till the fish were cured? Can u use this when the water temp. is under 50 degrees? Thanks for your help Smaug. How did your koi do this summer?

all the instructions are in this link.My dogs drank the water from the pond when I treated.Ill be darned if I would use anything that would cause those kinds of issues you mention.Think about all the wildlife that cood be affected.
My koi did fantastic this summer, they grew like wild, the biggest grower was my channel cat.He went from 4 inches to 14" from may till now.
