Yesterday I rescued a 15G tank from Kijiji that came with a pleco (too big), 1 male guppie, 1 female swordtail, 1 larger fish I have yet to identify, 2 cory cats (1 big/1 small), 1 apple snail, 1 mystery snail, 1 frog. The tank was very cloudy and has an odour. When I got all home and set up I did a 75% water change the tank is still cloudy though not as much and still has an odour. The bottom of the tank was FULL of waste - I have never seen so much! Apparently the child was left the feeding responsibility of 2/3 times a day!! I added some organic waste remover product...how long should I wait before another water change OR should I try to vacuum out the waste and just put back the water? I have never let my own tanks get like this so I really do not know what to do next. :fish:

I would be doing another water change today but only about 25%,vacuuming half the tank.
Wait two more days and do the other half.
You will have to rehome the pleco if its a common. Most get too big for a tank under 75 gallons.
Try adding some fresh carbon to the filter to help clean up the odor.
