I had my thesis defense yesterday (Thursday) and it went great! My public seminar was about an hour long and my private committee defense was a little longer. My committee said they were very impressed. Aside from a few alterations to my written document (which is a common requirement at my university), I'm now largely done with my graduate work. Awesome!!
I have to admit it's weird to have people call me Dr.Nic, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. :hmm3grin2orange:
I haven't really been on the forums much in the last month or more. Did I miss anything big?

Congrats! That's a ton of hard work. Right after I officially became "Dr." I made all of my friends and family call me that just for fun.
Goodbye

Thanks everyone!! It's been a LONG time coming, longer than I care to admit sometimes but it's nice to be more or less finished. My wife will be defending in December as well thumbs2:
@William, It's funny that you put up that cartoon. I made a joke about Dr. Nick at the end of my talk that only a few people got. Apparently not many of the people I work with watch the show. When I went out for dinner with my family thursday night however it was a different story all together. When I walked in I said "Hello everybody!" and they all answered "Hi Dr. Nic!". It's was great.

Congrats, Dr. Nic!!! It's nice to get to the end of the road, isn't it? Well done!!!thumbs2: :19:
Congrats! thumbs2:
I like to tell people that Ph.D's are 'real' doctors...and medical doctors are not...(a medical degree is a 4 year undergraduate degree, not an advanced degree)...and watch them get all confused...:hmm3grin2orange:
