After scanning Craigslist for like 3 months....

YEAH BABY
Not quite the dimensions I had hoped for, since I wanted a tank comparable to a 75g where the width is basically equal to the depth, but for 50 bucks, I'LL TAKE IT lol.
Woot woot.

Called the guy and the stand is solid oak! lolololol
The drive is like 1.5 hours though. Meh. I'm like a little kid on Christmas morning at this stage ;)
Hopefully noone sneaks in a ninja higher bid. I would cry. Seriously.
Upon closer inspection, it appears to be an Eheim classic canister. WOOOOOOOTTTTT

No I meant that the oak was a bonus lol. The canister and random accessories alone would be worth the 50 bucks and the drive down. The tank and stand are just gravy I suppose ;)
And hell no on the canister lol. MY PRECIOUS

Good lord no lol. This tank will be goldfish or something low maintenance. I was looking at the bare minimum tab for a planted 50g tank and it was not pretty
Lighting - 100
Substrate - 100
Pressurized CO2 system - 200 - I thought about DIY, but it's not realistic in a 50g
Plants - 50?
I don't have that kind of money to spend atm. Besides, the dimension for that tank are all wrong for a planted tank. You'd have no sense of depth (or it'd be next to impossible to create)

Goldfish+bare bottom tank=low maintenance.

Not that low maintenance lol. This is gonna go in the living room, so I'll probably do rough sand substrate + fake plants + stacked slate. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot of width to work with, so I won't be able to do a stacked slate wall.

barebottom is good for goldfish. I tried it on a tank and the waste is easily cleaned.

You could do some small stacks in the corners. Do you want me to take pics of the ones i put in my corners? They look really neat.

Sounds like a great buy, a secondhand good name cannister alone usually fetches about AU$50 on ebay.
Hope the deal comes of smooth for you and a safe trip:thumb:

As long as they are not particularly blurry, sure ;)
I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do with the center though. I figure like 5 goldfish for the tank, so it's gonna look really empty. Maybe I throw some java fern in there >.>

Hate to ask it here, but i found an eheim 2213 on ebay for $42 including shipping. Are they good filters?

Thanks!
Yeah, the Eheim canister definitely makes this a hell of a deal. I would have paid 50 bucks for the tank + the oak stand alone and been very happy, but it seems she is tossing in the filter, air pumps, etc, etc. I think I need a heater though, but that's a trivial expense.
Speaking of which, what's the temp range on a Visitherm Stealth? Couldn't find it.

edmonton's craigslist bombs. all thats posted is "wanted- 55g-90g aquarium"
some of edmontons classifieds are good. I found one:
"I want to trade my 33g complete set-up for a 10g in reasonable condition"
Too bad someone took it before i did

Eheim classics are amazing filters from what I've heard. The 2213 is the smallest one, but it's still great for like medium size tanks (it's rated for 66 gallons.....but the flow is only 116 gph so I'm a little skeptical)

Meh......got the tank today. Looks alright I guess. It's a four footer, but has no center brace o.O Glass seems pretty darn thick for a 55g though, so I think it's part of the design.
Comes with full hood. Lights don't work. I think it's the bulb and not the ballast.
Made by Perfecto, glass is 3/8 inch thick. Seams look good, will try water test tomorrow
Stand is metal framed with wooden panels. Wood is in good condition but the finish looks like crap. Will sand it down and refinish it probably.
Eheim filter is perfect. I can't hear it running, seriously lol. Missing the Ehfisubstrat but whatever.
Bunch of random other junk I'm ebaying. Heck I may fix up the stand/tank and sell it for 150 and just keep the Eheim for my 10g. lol.
