forgot to mention that each side is 10mm thick (1cm) thats why I deducted 20mm (2cm) from the sides... :)

Welcome to the Fabulous AC!:22:
I like the drawing except I would have the front and back panels butt up to the bottom instead of sitting on it.Leave the sides on top of the bottom panel. Also I would increase the thickness of the glass.
It will be stronger, thats a lot of pressure. most tanks are made that way.
Why not buy used?
You can find some great deals on Craig's List that will save you several hundred dollars.

This is a size I have always dreampt of having! Many fish love to swim the length, plus the above space to the air gives lots of room for oxygenation, etc. But so many aquariums are made deep. I hear the kind that are the hexagonal, deep ones aren't really that good for the fish because of less surface to the air.

ok first off you got your front and back confused with your sides, unless you plan on looking thru the long end of the tank. all glass should be placed on top of the bottom piece (sorry ray i did this for a long time) also what you are calling sides should extend out past the (front and back)

No problem!:22:
Every tank I have ever done is put together the way I said originally.
Its up to you!lol

Have you got a good price on glass where you are?
I was going to make my own 200gal but at $13/square foot is really wasn't worth it.The glass alone was 420 bucks plus shipping! lol I could have bought a new tank for less.I did get a 135gal. for $120.
