Hey everyone.
My boyfriend and I are new aquarium "enthusiasts." We currently have three tanks set up, and actually, we had a swordtail give birth to 17 babies just two days ago. Glad to have found this board as we still have many questions, I am sure, about raising our fish well.
If anyone's interested, in our 20 gallon we have the following:
3 lyre-tailed dalmation mollies (2 males, 1 female... actually when we got the female, we were told she wa pregnant. We're not sure what happened or if she gave birth or not, but we've had her for the good part of two months and no babies. So who knows.)
2 orange/yellow swordtails (1 male, 1 female +17 babies in a separate small nursery-type tank)
1 pleco (about medium sized, I guess)
2 African clawed frogs (one is a green male and one is an albino female)
5 danios (unsure of genders)
And lots of plants and decor... we have a "Roman-Greco" theme going on, haha.
In our second tank, we've just got one big goldfish and two small plecos.
Finally, we've got a fire-bellied newt. He does not get along with other newts.
Nice meeting you all!
Mindy
