I'm a bachelor, and live on cereal, TV dinners, and cold sandwiches. Every morning I wake up to the wonderful aroma of breakfast, heartily cooking on the stove......................at my neighbors house. I swear, honey nut cheerios taste like sawdust after smelling bacon and eggs, stewed chicken, and fried plantains. :18: Oh man.

Cant they just keep their delicious food smells in their own house?? :scry:

I used to cook all the time for my girlfriend when she was here. Im actually pretty good at it.. I'd bring her breakfast in bread. The thing is, cooking for one is so depressing. It feels pointless somehow.

And yeah, will you go over there? That would be a huge help lol

A[Only Registered Users Can See Links.] you should try to cook for one. There are lots of meals you can make, and then freeze the leftovers in one portion containers. :ssmile: Breakfast food is not easy to do that with, though.....Why not make Saturday the day for bacon and eggs....:ssmile:

I thought breakfast in bread sounded a little off... Okay I'll write them a little note and you pass it on.

"To Aeon's neighbors...
The smells that are coming from your apartment are inconsiderate of his sence of smell. We as his friends will have to ask you to quit cooking and take your family out to eat from here on out. If this request cannot be met we will have to take drastic measures and deal with it...
Thank you from friends on Aquatic Community"

How's that, think it will work?

Well you could ask for the leftovers... or if they have a cute daughter thats the right age you could date. That will get you invited to dinner (with luck breakfast) or just go get someone new to cook for (cooking for 1 does seem lame... I know just what you mean. I lost almost 20 pounds being single and I've gained 15 of it back since I started seeing my g/f...lol)

and if all else fails... send some kind of 'aroma' back their way... :hmm3grin2orange:

lol you guys.

Violet, that notice letter was awesome thank you. I shall have it printed and delivered forthwith.

Jaster.. I dont think my girlfriend would be too pleased with me pimping myself out to the neighbors daughter for breakfast. lolol

Better yet, start cooking! It takes about 5 minutes to fry up some bacon and eggs.

Wait I thought u were a bachelor... Anyways all you need to do is throw some onions, beer, garlic and green peppers in a pan and you will start a food smell war.

Hey, cooking eggs and bacon for one isn't hard -- it's when you get to things like lasagna that you run into problems. And omelettes are best when you're cooking for one because you can only make one at a time! My omelette always gets cold while I'm making my husband's.

I suggest you go over to their kitchen window and make big puppy-dog eyes...

They'll either feed you, because they feel sorry for you, or they'll stop cooking breakfast entirely, because you creeped them out...:hmm3grin2orange:

Thats good advice rue:hmm3grin2orange:

Or you could do what Hobbs' friends do - get invited in then pee on the couch. Chances are that they'll simply move...:hmm3grin2orange:

Hahha.. yeah, or they'll just pull the blinds and loose the dogs. lol

Well my girlfriend currently lives in Australia, so its a real long distance relationship for now. So yeah, I am living the bachelor life in terms of eating and cleaning and stuff.

I guess you guys are right though. I have to start sometime.. might as well be now. I used to be a pretty ok cook, so it shouldnt be too hard.

being too lazy to take 5 minutes for bacon and eggs doesnt make them inconsiderate :P

I used to feel like that too, but a friend set me straight. Aren't you worth the effort of a home cooked meal?

LOL! If not for my husband (the cook in my house), I'd also live on cereal, etc.

2 minutes in the microwave should NOT be considered cooking... If you can do it with a TV dinner, you can do the extra step of breaking the eggs and scrambling them...

Throw in a handful of raisins and sliced onion before you microwave it... Maybe a handful of crushed walnuts as well... Some raspberry on top, or some melon... a banana even? Maybe mash it up and toss it in a salad with some balsamic vinegar? Good breakfast right there in 5 minutes...

If my scrambled eggs contained raisins, sliced onion, crushed walnuts, raspberries, melon and banana, I would eat cereal.

Yeah, I don't think I'd like fruit in my eggs either. ;)

 Agreed. Fruit in my eggs? Yeuck.

However every bachelor and bachelorette should cook up something nice for themselves, at least once a week. It makes one feel better. thumbs2:

For example, I was feeling down the other day, so I fried myself up some cheese perogies with a touch of onion, beet greens with garlic butter and a salad of purple lettuce with soy nuts. Granted, that's not the kind of meal everybody likes. (For the more carnivorous people out there I also occasionally bake myself up seasoned chicken breast wrapped in bacon with garlic french fries. =P)

I live alone most of the time and have since I was about 16, my parentals live primarily at the lake and I primarily live here. I have the occassional friend stay over or whatever or the parentals come stay a day or two out of the week. Id rather cook for 1 than several...its easier. If I cook for just myself I know how much to make, if I cook for more than me I either make way to much or not enough. :14:

The most I would add to my eggs would be some fresh herbs and chopped hot peppers.

Yeah... I'll eat pretty much any combination of foods... Especially when fruit's involved...

But seriously... Eggs and raisins... It's a good combination...

I have the same problem. Its not the cooking I mind, tho, its the cleanup. Cooking is fun, eating is better, but cleaning up for a half hour afterward most definitely is NOT.
I'm a frozen meal/no breakfast kinda gal myself - tho I do cook on weekends when things are more leisurely!

give yourself some time to do a nice receipe, like a apple-caramel pie...
and then when its a ll great and perfect looking coming out of the oven , you take it and you go over your neighbours...and then ...(hihihi! knock at the door and throw it in ther faces...hihi)no serioulsy,

go over there and give them the amazing good ir that you made...
maybe they ll do the same for on of their receipe that smell so good on one day...

;-)
then again, as i often advised and worte on this on this forum...

a great 'BIG smile will probably help.

Aeoneflame... dotn go over then with the hair do you ave on your profile picture...not that it is not friendly or anything... but because you might not get the impression that you want to give them ...hihihi!

A single man has NO excuse for not eating anything his littlelittle heart desires (or as is the case with me, over-sized, jelatinous barely able to pump, heart)!

In fact, its 5:39 am here and I'm just about ready to steam some brussels sprouts! (Dipped in garlic butter of course).
