I read on a few sites that having an air pump in small aquariums will help my gouramis be able to have more oxygen. I was wondering if i really should get an air pump.

If so does anyone know how much they cost for one to fit for a 10g aquarium, and if their was any special kind that is better than other ones.

Thanks :)

I think they are all pretty much the same. You can get a small one here for $5 or so.

Ok thanks, but are they needed? I don't mind buying one but if i don't need it, i rather not get one.

Do you have live plants in the tank?

Gourami's don't need air pumps. They have a special gland that lets them breathe from the surface if they need to. Labyrinthe gland or something like that.

yeah their is one live plant for them to nibble on, but i just heard the bubbles made more oxygen in the tank making it easier for the gouramis to breathe in small places.

Anyways, thanks guys...ill probably go check out prices..their about 20$ + where i live..

Don't put more than one in a 10g unless you have a male and a female.
