A few days ago, under "FOOD" I posted this funny cory story.

However, VoidParadigm wrote back that everyone has a funny cory story.

Haha, cute.

I think everyone who owns cories has a few Funny Cory Stories up their sleeves. thumbs2:

So let's have 'em!

I now have 12 corys in my 55 gallon tank. I feed them pellets most nights. But they get enough from what floats to the bottom and the frozen bloodworms they snag too.

However, I recall that I had 5 peppered corys last year when I lived in Germany. They absolutely LOVED the pellets. In fact, they would suck on them like a baby with a bottle. I ran out and thought... I'll just make sure they get enough of the flakes to eat.

Well, the other 4 cory did just fine, but one of mine started to look weak. In fact... one morning I found him lying on his side, like he was gasping. (This was only 3 days after I ran out of the pellets). I took time to run 10 miles away to the store to get more pellets. I made sure one pellet landed really close to him.

Sure enough... he dragged himself to the pellet, starting sucking on it like a baby with a bottle, and was just fine after that! It was the only thing he'd eat!

i have several corys along with a common pleco in one tank. when food falls, the pleco will come over to look and the food, but the corys will beat him off until they eat their fill. its hilarious seeing a 1 inch fish beat off an 8 inch pleco! corys are the real commedians of the acuarium! although tangs have a close second

My favorite male peppered cory "Oddball" always 'sits' on my biggest female's head before eating.

My cories steal worms from my goldfish.

Oddball follows my bigger fish around like a lost puppy.

I have 12 corys. I have recently started feeding frozen (thawed) bloodworms because my Badis Badis needs this for his daily diet (It's all he will eat).

The 12 corys will suck the bloodworms like a long piece of spaghetti. Since the Platys and Serpae Tetras are more agressive and try to take it away, they will suck it in all the way, and then little by little as they are feeling safe, they let some out to chew on, and suck it back in when they sense a threat.

So I have 12 little corys, with those red bloodworms sticking out of their mouth!

Here is a picture I got... but I am going to try to get more of this comical session!

I got a response from King Tut once about Corys:

I know what you mean about the cory. We have slowly been growing the school and every cory that goes in there they are all jumping on each other and all over each other - Like high 5's with fins -

And from Kaz...

I've noticed that during feeding time, while in their 'feeding frenzies' a cory will break of from the group and swim about half way up the tank at a normal speed, but then they will randomly shoot up to the top of the tank till they 'tag' the surface and then they'll rush back down at lightning speed.

It looks like they are attached to a string and they are suddenly being pulled to the surface.

it just seems so weird because it is like the cory is just swimming along decides to swim over an ordament or something and is suddenly pulled to the surface.

They then resume the frenzy like nothing happened.

Cory4: Woah what just happened?
Cory5: Oh I just got my horizontal and veritcal mixed up agin
Cory4: Oh I do that all the time.
