Have you tried getting it on pellets? He will do much better with some good pellets in his diet. I personally would cut off the crickets once he takes pellets, and you can still hand feed him. The best one to switch them over with is Hikari Food Sticks.

I got ours at work to eat them. Took me a couple of weeks of limited cricket intake (just to ensure it was eating) but he finally took it. Hikari Food Sticks are specifically designed to get stubborn surface feeding carnivores to switch over to pellets.

DemonShark, you are extremely lucky. My first ABF was realitively calm, although there was no way he would have let me touch him, but my new one is extremely skittish, he dives deep into the tank if I even approach the tank.

I started mine on freeze dried shrimp & bloodworms - then mixed flake with it a little bit more at a time until he? got used to it. now he'll eat anything I give him.

I saw a buttlerfly fish at my LPS and I agree,thumbs2: they are spectacular fish.
