Just wondering if it is ok to feed frogs from my pond to a redtail, i am guessing it is ok because if they were in a pond they would eat them, need opinions.

Imo it'd be fine. Afterall if one was in their natural enviroment and they could catch it they'd snatch it up. I wouldn't do it very often; 1 per two weeks or so for example.

Ah well. :bump: Hopefully someone else knows more about this kind of possible food.

Well, as long is it is a none toxic species it is fine from the point of view of the fish. It might however be against the law. A lot of frog species are endagered and protected by law.

Ooh, good point William.

Yeah... do some research into the frogs if you really want to try it.

They are just plain old bullfrogs, very large ones.

Iunno about any species your state (or any state for that matter, protects ) As long as it's not protected, I say go ahead and try it.

Bullfrogs and green frogs are not protected as far as I know.

I don't know about your state law, but in Californian you need a fishing license to catch any frogs. I'd check the laws for that in your area.
