This isnt right that a judge would let this slide. This is terrible for a sex offender to get probation for something this bad.

For 3 years this went on and the judge was going to give him 14 years until he read what the victim had to say in her impact statement. Apparently she sided with him. Stupid girl probably thinks it's love.

I would love to see more of this judges cases. I bet he has sentenced drug dealers or drunk drivers way more time and NEVER cut them a break like this. Its pretty weird overall tho.
Maybe if someone pranks the judge and makes him think this was done to his daughter and his daughter says she doesnt want the man to get in trouble maybe it might change his opinion. Sick prank but at least i didnt say i hope this happens to his daughter to see how he feels.

He'll get his...he'll go "missing" in a few weeks and all the family will have alibis because they were at a family dinner at grandmas house and no one will say any different...

There is something not being said here. She must be 15-16 now? Perhaps she is in the family way and they want to marry? Stranger things have happened. Certainly not saying this is right but if this is the case, he can't raise his kid behind bars and perhaps the judge didn't want him not knowing his kid for 14 years? Weird case indeed but as stated, we don't know the details either.

well, I was going to say I hope he gets caught doing some minor thing like weed or disorderly conduct that violates his probation so he has to go to jail. Then I read what Lady Hobbs posted, and that sounds like a pretty possible scenario. I don't honestly know that I would want him to be around kids though, whether they are his or not judging by his past behavior. I know some people change, and it's possible that he wouldn't do this again, but the only person that really knows the truth behind that is him. Also, I know it's bad to judge people on their looks, it happens to me a lot and I hate it, but come on, look at the guy, he's a little scary looking.

Yea i understand. At the most she could even be is 15. It says she was YOUNGER then 12 and it happen between 2006-2009. So if she was at the oldest 11 in 2006 she would be 14. Still when he started out she was in no way at least looking grown and just too hot to past up on. I mean if she was like 17 and looked 21 ok we could understand but we are talking about someone who PROBABLY looked like a LITTLE GIRL. So he must prey on young girls. Not only did he do normal adult things but also he was charged with sodomy!!! Not too many grown women even willing do it. Im just saying how far it took it. I dont even get what is being said about not knowing his kids and getting in the family way.....

I know. :)
I'm just trying to find some logical reason her and her family wanted him not to go to jail and why she never reported him when it started. It's a nutzy deal, for sure. I read somewhere it started at 9 years old!
Yes, the guy is a creep. A lot of guys in FL look like this. Not much more than swamp rats.

It could have been consensual. For all we know she could have asked him to do it. There was a girl in my 5th grade class who was taken out of the school after going and getting herself pregnant with a much older guy but it never went to court or anything because it was completely consensual and she wanted to be with him still.
I think that's a bit more plausible than it not being consensual and her wanting to marry him now, and her family supporting the idea.
Sad how messed up some people's lives can get, either through full, or no fault of their own.

It could have been consensual.
Well, yes and no, according to the law it couldn't have, thats what statutory rape means, is that the law considers a person of that age unable to give consent. Obviously the girl could have said "Yes I want to have sex with you." or something along those lines, which yes is technically consent, but it still isn't according to law.
No matter what the situation is the guys a predator bottom line, not even taking into account whether she looked more or less mature than your typical girl of her age, she's still going to have the mind of a child. What's really sad is that there are most definitely more cases of things like this that never get reported, and in so many of them like this one, no real punishment is meted out to the offender. Does anyone really think that the little slap on the wrist this guy got is enough to even make him think twice about doing something like this again? It also seems to me to give good encouragement to the other sickos out there that they can do whatever they want and probably get away with it.
I like the description Lady Hobbs, swamp rat lol, not only does he look like one he obviously doesn't have much stronger morals than one either.

I agree. Obviously any words of consent given by a girl that young would be meaningless and wouldn't justify anything he did, but it might explain why the family and the girl requested the judge to go easy on him, and why the judge honoured that request instead of treating him as if he stalked, kidnapped, and restrained her.
He could just be an opportunistic pervert with some sick mental problems who happened to stumble into the perfect opportunity without directly manipulating circumstances. Or he could be a flat out predator who selects victims and creates his own opportunities. Either way the girl spoke up and now people know who and what he is, and that's the most important thing. I do think that someone like him should be sentenced to psychological councelling though whether time is served in prison or not.
The story only provides minimal details though, and I'm sure there must have been some seriously major details surrounding the circumstances of this case to make the judge reconsider a prison sentence for a crime like this, so I wont play psychologist/lawyer/cop and say what the judge should or shouldn't have done. But I will say that I find it puzzling that he's allowed to walk around with relative freedom.
