I'm starting to realize that I may be letting too many fry live. How overstocked has this become?
75g tank
Rena XP3 canister/Aquaclear 50 HOB
9 Zebra Danios
9 Mollies
8 Neon Tetras
5 Guppies
3 Platies
3 Emperor Tetras
3 X-Ray Tetras
6 Peppered Cories
3 Kuhli Loaches
1 Dwarf Gourami
1 common Pleco (4.5", obviously not a permanent resident)
One of the platies, three of the guppies, and four of the mollies are still fry at the moment, but they are big enough to where they can't be eaten. I caught two platy fry just a few minutes ago and put them in the 10g snail/shrimp tank that I put all the fry into and suddenly realized that I should probably stop doing that.

I do not think you are overstocked. You should work on bigger schools of fewer species. The tank will look better that way.
Agreed, both tetra groups should be bumped up to six.

I'd up some schools and if you are having fry problems you can always get a fry eating fish.
I had a fry problem until I got my tiger barbs. They hunt and devour platy fry like its their mission in life.

5 convicts in a 29 is asking for trouble.

The only fry problem I have is self inflicted. I've never, not even once, had a fry be born and survive on its own. The only ones that survive are the ones that I catch and put in the designated invert/fry 10g tank.
Anyway, I know about the tetra schools not being big enough. Neither of the LFSs have stocked them since we introduced them a couple months ago.
If those two species were upped to six, would it then be at its max?
EDIT: The Convicts are juvies. I'm waiting for two to pair off and ship the other three to the LFS. What does that have to do at all with this thread?

You asked if you are over stocked! lol
Your 29 would be if you were not getting rid of three.
Had that been said in the first post it would not have been brought up.lol Its in your sig and part of your stocking.
I agree with others as well, your 75 needs more tetras.

Eh, the sig just goes with the posts. I explicitly asked about the 75g, not the 29g. No harm, obviously, but people should just answer the questions people ask. I know everyone just wants to help, but the constant giving of advice that wasn't asked for just quickly becomes condescending.
I also agree on the tetras. If I can ever get more around here, I definitely will. Is it at its limit then?
EDIT: Northernguy, interesting that you should reply. I JUST finished reading your 135g journal. Great stuff.

I don't have experience with most of the fish you have but I would get MANY more neon tetras and make another big school of some other one too. Like someone else said, a 75g. is a pretty big tank & most of your fish are small. I think you have the room.
