Ever since heff jumped into the overflow, he has been a nightmare!

He will not leave my other oscar alone, it got bad last night so I put up a divider for a day, took it down and straight after tooch he goes.

So, I rearranged the tank and built tooch a little fortress to hide in. So she's happy with the shelter but heff still gets in there and causes trouble.

Hopefully this goes away, when tooch was the bad one she at least stayed on her side, she didn't hunt him down. Heff is going all out to be a bad fish! :scry:

That sucks, hopefully he relaxes. If not, it may be time for a new tank.

No clue lol When my other oscar tooch was the angry one, my gf decided she was acting more like a woman with her mood swings, so from there we decided tooch was she and heff was he.

Pretty simple method I guess lol

Then you have two males, and they will kill each other in time. Sorry.

Unless you see one drop eggs or you see breeding tubes good luck sexing an oscar!lol
How big is the tank?
Is it possible to add another type of fish for the oscar to chase around other than the oscar.A dither fish.
One thing I found with my tank is if you divide them they do become more territorial and it causes fights.Do not build dividers unless you plan on keeping them apart.

Like I said NG, its to males, and they will end up fighting to the death.

I said if they have seperate territories in one tank they will become aggressive.I do not know if one will kill the other but that is possible.
I have many days where one oscar gets after the other. My albino tries to be boss but after my black one gets bit enough times it rams the albino real good. They get along again after that. These two are always side by side, before and after every spat.I have no idea what sex they are, they have never spawned. They act like a pair.
Two females kept in the same tank may act like a pair and even try and spawn.Rumor has it two males will fight but thats not always true.

Well, thats definitely depressing to hear. I do not want that. I love the little guys.

So I guess I will see how things roll out and then obviously take actions if they take it to the next level.

If they were raised together there is a good chance that they will get along with the odd bit of rough housing ! lol

That is what I am hoping for. Since I've been home from work they have been getting along. Maybe some shrimp will solve the issues.

one of the shops near me had an oscar that whenever someone came in, he started ramming the front glass! the thing stopped after busting his 1st tank and now is normal aggression. oscars can be wierd

Well... Hopefully I dont jinx my self, but things seem to be back to normal.

I just left them alone, stopped changing things around and using the divider for a while. And they seem fine again...

So I guess they can settle things them selves.

If your name was Tooch you'd be aggressive too.

Reason being people think oscars are wierd... Is because they are more inteligent then other fish. An oscar can recognize his owner. My friend fed his oscar always by hand with a yellow bracelet on his wrist if you tried feeding him without the bracelet he would nip you. If you had the bracelet he would gently take the food.

Well, looks like I really do need to rehome one. I can't keep them together, they just won't leave each other alone. Really sucks, I have a friend that would take one if I help him find a tank. But I don't know if I trust him to actually take care of my baby. I have another friend who's mom is a part of a fish commity and thinks she could find one a good home.
So, I may go that route. Just sucks I don't know who to part with I like them both. BOO! if I woulda just got one right

Yeah definitely! I have been pondering the idea of getting my self another 55g for buddy. But I'm in such a small apt, no way gf would swing for that. Maybe I can convince my parents to get a tank again lol. Yeah so I dunno... I'll sit patiently and try to find who ever a good home.
