Anyone have any rather strange things that happened in their life they want to share?
I was thinking today of when I went to the bowling alley with a friend of mine who wanted to join a league. I had only bowled once or twice as a kid and I just went along with her to have a beer and watch.
It turned out that they needed a sub for the night and this green-horn was elected altho I told them that I would be a fool, probably fall down and could I have the bumper guards like they have for kids.
Well, I got talked into it and grabbed a house ball that I could lift and put on house shoes that were ugly as sin, smelled to high heaven and were too large. Away I go, nervous as all get out. I then proceded to bowl 9 strikes in a row and by then had a huge crowd behind me clapping and making me nervous as I could get. My name was going over the loud speaker, for crying out loud! My last ball was a gutter ball!
I was then convinced that I would leave my husband and become a pro bowler, travel the country and make tons of money. Ahhhh visions. I joined a league, bowled two nights a week for the next 5 years and never once got even close to what I did that night. The only part of my vision that came true was leaving my husband. :)
I have more weird things but will post them later so this won't be too long.

My oddest one was how i got into golfing. I started hitting really far, then eventually went with adults when i was 13. 5 years later, i outdo lots of adults. My record is 300 yards wit ha 250 average.

Nice! It's a good game to stay up on. Good sport and lots of exercise.

The one part i like is finding more golf balls. I remember i lost one golfball in the brush, and found 8 others looking for it.
...I am an excellent shot...with a rifle...better than most guys...LOL...
I almost always win fun shoots ... enjoying the looks on the 'serious' men's faces as I beat them...
However, I have no desire to do it seriously...

Im pretty good with a rifle as well, but i dont do compitions. I eliminate pests, such as, but not limited to, rats, bats, moles, voles, crows, starlings, sparrows, pigeons, possums, coons, skunks, squirrels, and the occasional bobcat. I first started shooting seriously at 10, and i shoot my pellet gun in my backyard all the time. I can hit a can at 35 yards with my pellet gun firing from the waist. I dont know what it is, but i have a knack for shooting.
I also have the ability to either, win HARD wrestlling matches, or almost lose really easy matches. At one of our tournaments, i had to wrestle the 125lb weight class, when i weighed in at 112. This guys biceps were the size of my thighs. We went back and forth for a while, but i kept getting back on top because he made a ton of stupid mistakes. Then there are the matches where i am up against some twig and allmost get my butt handed to me. I have won 2 matches last year in the last 5 seconds by accident almost. Then there was one where we were tied 3 to 3 with 3.4 seconds left on the clock, and we were at the line. I dont even remember thinking, but as soon as the ref blew the whistle, i shot in and took him down to get 2 points, and then i got an additional 3 points for keeping his back at less than a 45 degree angle for three seconds. I should have only gotten 2 points for the back, but the ref was a little screwy.

man, wrestling in grade 9 was the best. We had a really fat muscled guy against a scrawny guy, and fatty mega PWN3D scrawny. He flipped him over his shoulder and K.O'd him

I had this really odd life experience where I got addicted to fishkeeping and spent hours researching live plants.

ok.......Here's another life experience for me.
I was working this bar in Detroit and it got so foggy I sent the other girls home and finished up the night myself. I'm driving home with my head hanging out the window trying to see the line. Man, it was bad.
Anyway, I get home, fall right to sleep and wake right back up after having this dream that my friends kids had been killed. Now, this is a friend I had not talked with since we graduated and went our separate ways......10 years previous to this. I never gave her a thought, actually.
I go downstairs since I am now a bit rattled and turn on the TV and there it is........plane goes down in Reed City, MI with the Mayor, his wife and their two grandsons aboard. Plane come down in the same fog I had driven home in. My friend lost her whole family that night at the same time I had dreamed of this I later found out.
That jarred me some.
Then a year or so after this, I was home doing laundry and my son was outside playing with the neighbors kids. I suddenly felt like I just had to get to him and ran outside, caught up with him just as a tornado come riping thru Sterling Hts where I was living at the time. He had been playing in the neighbors garage that was now gone.
I've had a few of those odd experiences.
