Hmm. Corys have got to be my 2nd favourite fish!!!
My favourite in particular is Buttons (I can tell him apart because he has a bigger head lol)
Ever since I got him, I thought he was a one'off super tame little guy. I put my hand in the water and he darts up, sniffing and rummaging into my hand. When I needed to move the fish into another tank while I pulled it apart, he was such a darl, I put my hand in and he hardly squirmed as I pulled him out of the water... Very trusting :11:
Anyway, my new 2 are JUST as tame!!! They do the exact same! So tame and trusting!
Are all Corys like this?

I don't think they are all as trusting!
You must have that magical touch Demi!thumbs2:
That would be awesome!
My oscars swim into my hands but thats just for a quick pat and they swim off.lol

My cories flee in fear when I approach the tank. Haha.
Only 'tame' fish I've ever had is my current 3-Spot Gourami (eats out of my hand, follows me around the tank while I redecorate) and all my female goldfish. My biggest female will swim right into my hand when I go to bring them inside for the winter.

You have something very special there! I have had lots of corys. They are very sweet and kind to each other and other fish in the tank. But they have never seemed to recognize me. In fact, they strike me as almost blind going on smell and touch! But they are some of the best natured fish I have ever seen!

Oh. Mine are just a bit too special I guess LOL
I told a fish-fanatic friend of mine and he told me it was no big deal and that all Corys did that, so of course I felt the need to ask and be all curious :-)
I guess mines recognize me or sort identify me like.....FOOD !!! Infact they only group near the top-front of the tank when I'm approaching

I think you've got a special way with them! My cories are not like that, but I love to watch them.
The tamest fish we own would be our fancy goldfish. They knock into my hands when I clean / rearrange their tank and they come to the corner closest to me and watch me when I'm in bed.

My betta and gouramis recognize me, but no such luck with the corys, alas. They're fun to watch though.
