Q About Gourami Compatibility...??

I wanted to know what kind(s) of Gourami can live with my female 3IN Opaline Gourami. She fought with a tiny male Opaline I got, will she dislike any Dwarf, Red/Fire, Blue or Gold Gourami also? Which Gourami can live with whom? I have a 120g tank that she is kept in, so there is plenty of room, I am always adding plants as money allows. Thanks!

With gouramies, it's more trial and error. It's kinda weird how even in that big of a tank, your female gourami fights with you male. I'd try to find a bigger male just in case anything happens.

No other gouramis. A gourami who fights with others will almost never tolerate any others.
There are dozens of different fish she can have as company though. Tetras, cories, plecos, etc.

Also; A bigger male could simply end up in her being killed. Don't risk it.

Sounds like she does not want the company of her own kind. She will do fine by herself.

In that tank I would do a group of 5 pearl gouramis it would look great. A boy and four females would go great together.

I agree, Pearls are not like other gouramis, and can live in a group like that. I would do 2m/4f.

darn, i was hoping for good new color
tank is pretty plain, white sand, fish are mostly dull and some green plants.

Pearls have lots of color - they just need a black background.
