Unsure if I should post here or under tank setup so be nice :-)

Today I awake from my nap to a wet floor... my sump had a crack in it. Not fixable by me today so I went to the store and bought a new one. This new one is way better than my old one in so many ways. The big plus is it has its own refugium. Now, I have read some information on this but not a lot.

So, what should I put in it? I heard sand, LR, algae loving grass... etc.

I have chateo grass in it right now with a light. Is that fine or should I think about adding some more stuff?

Tank is a 75g hex reef setup.

You can put in pretty much what you like...I'd opt for sand and algae of some sort...

Just regular sand?

I'd use the aragonite...

A 4" thick bed of sand and some LR rubble if you have any available. That and some chaeto should do quite well for you.

How big is the refugium area? I didn't put sand in my refugium because it would have significantly reduced the amount of water I had in the refugium. If its a small area I would just do rock rubble and chaeto. I've been nitrate free for over a year with just the sand in my display and 50lbs of live rock
