View Full Version : Anyone live in (or near) Hamilton, OH?
Found a dog on Petfinder. Might call about him. Was wondering if the Animal Adoption Foundation was a good organization...and reasonable...

I used to live by there. Now I'm a couple thousand miles away from there. Did you ever find a home for the kitty?
...it's still a big if...I did call the shelter...no answer yesterday and I didn't want to leave a message on the machine...
Still debating if we want to deal with 4 dogs...or wait... or stick with just the two younger dogs (when Brigs isn't here...)....
And yes! Beleive it or not...Brigs is from Boston...I flew down to pick him up as a puppy...and Hanni is from Atlanta...flew down to pick her up as well...:hmm3grin2orange:
I wouldn't be able to afford it if hubby didn't have free airmiles though...
And the kitty? No...sadly, hubby found her dead on the front steps. No idea why. :scry: If it was an accident (hit by car) there were no signs of injury that he could see. It wasn't viral...she was fine the day before, and I would have noticed if she had picked up the virus that the barn cats had...I didn't see her...hubby looked after it...

Sorry to hear about the kitty. :scry:
But of course you want a fourth dog! Good luck with the shelter, hopefully they will answer today. Many shelters are closed on Mondays.
...*ack* Just phoned and got a hold of a real person.
The dog has been there 2 months and is available. They'll adopt him to me if I meet their criteria.
Apparently no one wants him because they all think he's a pitbull...:scry:
They're sending me more photos...will have lots of thinking to do...:help:

Two months...see, he's been waiting for you! It's fate! :hmm3grin2orange:
My guy had been in the pound for at least that long, had seen him when I was looking for a cat for my bf, but didn't live in a place where I could have a dog. Two months later I moved to a place where I could and decided if that particular dog was there that he was meant to be mine. He was still there, which was amazing since it was a high kill shelter, so he came home with me. He's an amazing dog (after a ton of training, he was a wild child) and a perfect fit for me.
