View Full Version : NG's 20gal Gourami tank

I just resealed a 20gal tank a neighbor gave me.I decided it would make a nice tank for a pair of gourami.I set it up and went to the lfs.I am hoping I got what I asked for.The blue one has a round dorsal fin and the golds is more of a point.
They are in with some guppies I had in a ten gal that was in its place previously.
I have two whisper filters on it.I beleive they are each 20s.
Please let me know what you think!:22:

Beautiful. :19: Gouramis are such a graceful fish. I think I'm in love with my pearls.

The blue appears female.
The gold appears male.

Watch them for aggression or spawning. If they spawn you'll have to take her out right after.
When they get larger they may feel cramped.
Just with one gourami I keep getting told my tank is too small, but I personally think it depends on the gourami.

If your filtration is up to par, you see no signs of stunting as they grow, and they're content with each other they'd be fine in there, imo.

(Also; I'm very serious when I say watch them carefully for the first couple months. My female gold killed my male blue.)

If there is aggression issues I have a few different tanks I can move her too,or him! lol

It sits on my right and my puter is on my left down in my dungeon. I seem to spend a lot of time down here!

I do appreciate that!

I have not seen any aggression from these two yet.There has been the odd chase but no biting or fin nipping has happened. I do hope it doesn't happen! lol
