Arowana Question..

Thinking about getting a couple...

first of all, was thinking about chillian red arowanas . whats their temparament?? or has anybody else got any suggestions?

Tank proposed to house them is a 125g deep 5ft long tank...

I personally wouldn't keep any big predator in anything less than a 250, but heh, I don't know much about Arowanas. I would, though, love to see pictures of whatever fish you decide to get once you've bought it! Also; :bump: =] Hope someone comes along soon to answer your question!

most people are gonna say that a 125 isnt big enough for one, much less two of these guys.

a single silver may be ok alone in a tank this size, but for the beso results keep larger fish like this in a 250-500 sized tank to keep them happy. personally, i would rather have a big reef tank than just one fish like an arowana

A 125 is fine for a juvie but you need at least 24"x6FT. for a grow out tank or bigger.

Temperment would be same as any asian jardini. You'll want a 24" deep tank also preferably 6ft long, but you might be able to get away with 5ft.
