So beautiful... great photo's... why type of fron is he? I belive mine is the same but alot smaller thumbs2:

They are Burundi Frontosas Violet!

Just for curiosity sakes... what makes them different from the other fron's.. are there a difference in size or just the coloring and marking? He's beautiful by the way.

I think there are 14 or 15 different varieties of Frontosa, could be more,
some of the more common one's are Burundi, Kigoma, Mpimbwe and Zaire,
The Zaire's are the most sought after hence the most expensive.
Their colouring and markings are all different and they come from different parts of the lake.
I hope that helps a bit Violet.

LOL mine never says the same color.. right now he's got a redish brown face with blue tinted fins six bars and very curious about me looking at him lol... That's a cool map by the way

15 Frontosa varients on that map, I wasn't that far out with

nice frontosa they are my favorite cichlid.My largest male is 11 inches,his name is boss.
