Should be noted it only works if you have no pH lowering/raising products in the tank. Good chart though. I still prefer the 24 hour degassing method (or a drop checker)

same site but regarding increasing nitrates....which I'm sure I need to do

Hobbs, when you get your lighting, the most crucial thing is to boost the CO2. Nitrates can come later, (since you do have fish in the tank) but plants need CO2 now to grow. The usual defficiency in a planted tank with timely water changes and fish is CO2 and Iron (which Flourite takes care of)

I almost got a water clarifier but I noticed it says "removes iron" so passed on that. I have 3 bubbles going now in this tank since none of them are going great guns. Two hardly drop my pH at all so will try it with the extra light and 3 for now.

I'm starting to feel like a very stupid 3rd grader here.

Is this on the 29g or the 55g? I keep getting mixed up.

What do you mean by having 3 bubbles going on in the tank btw?

My planted tank is the 29. I have 3 bubblers going in that one instead of the two I had. They don't bubble nuts, you know. Another part of this whole deal that annoys me.
