View Full Version : My 14gal GBR Tank

Never done one of these before but it seems like a good idea to do one now that I am actually starting a tank from scratch.
So here we go:
Got two female GBRs from LFS today, I was told they were a male and female but oh well. I currently have them in a 55 gal but to make sure they have enough food I will be moving them into a 14 gallon that has been set up and running but over run with algae.
So this has been tonight's project! I have emptied the 14 gallon and gave it a good scrubbing and tossed the plants that were previously in it. I boiled the gravel and put it back together. And I am currently refilling it.
Heres a pic with out the water:

the girls should be fine in there. if you do get a male and they form a pair take the other gal out tho as she could get whuuped

Acclimated and lights are off and hoping for the best! Will see in the morning. Also the girls are going to have more suitable tank mates now; Guppies! They will look nice together. Can't wait to turn the lights on tomorrow! thumbs2:

Everybody is looking happy and healthy! thumbs2: Hooray! Water specs are perfect but a couple of the runner plants got sucked up into the filter so they need to be rerooted but besides that everything looks a-okay! And I got my first AC award! Todays going to be a good day!

Now I'm just waiting for the battery for my camera to charge and I will have pictures up asap!
