Today I finally set up the 50g breeder tank I got from Craigslist a couple months ago. What held me up was the cheap DIY stand that came with the tank. I had to completely rebuild it before I could use it.

So anyway, I had to drain the 29g, move it out of the way, and put the 50g in it's place. I put all the fish in a large tote while I worked on the move. For now, I just put all the contents of the 29g into the 50g, including the flourite substrate (I will need more), plants, filter and fish. Right now it is so cloudy that I can't even arrange the decor.

I am planning on ordering some Thorichthes maculipinnis (a Central American cichlid) to go in this tank. When they arrive, I will move some fish around as necessary to accommodate the new arrivals.

I will add pictures once things settle down a bit to where I can at least do a little arranging and the water clears up.

Well, the tank has cleared up a bit. I still have some major aquascaping to do yet, and some cleaning, but here is a picture as it is now:

Here are a couple of the inhabitants:

I'm currently working on a large piece of wood for the right side, and I plan on keeping the plants contained on the left end of the tank. I'll add more rocks as well.

Here is my apisto, I think it is hoignei, but I could be wrong:

She came as a mistake in an order of wild caught rams at the lfs, so I saved her from an uncertain fate. The store doesn't normally carry apistos, so I don't think there is a chance of her ever getting a mate.
