Gender?

How can you tell the sex/gender of a Oscar? I'd like to know whether Aussy is a boy or girl :-)

It is almost impossible unless you see them spawn.

Unless you see the breeding tubes, they are spawning or you vent them...no way to totally know for sure. *Generally* male oscars are more long and streamlined in appearance, and female oscars are more rounded and full bodied. Of course this will not apply to all fish, breeding...genetics and so on play a factor as well.

There is a thread from last year sometime where that was dicussed.I beleive it was Blu-ray that posted pics of his fishes breeding tubes.There was a few pics there that will give you a good idea.
