They look nice Mith, not sure why you say they're sucky...

I like the driftwood with rocks in the mbuna tank.

Oh I was just using "sucky" because we were saying that in another thread... LOL. I do love my little tankypoos!

I recently replaced the filter in that 50g (community) and man, whatta difference! If I aim the exhaust tube towards the front... OMG... no poo anywhere to be found! Since sand's so smooth, the poo and debris just goes right back towards the filter!

WOOT WOOT! thumbs2:

My next goal is to learn the names of my fish...(blush) LOL

Well, the Jebo 50g tank has a built in filter system. I hated it. It was basically a power head that ran the system. I changed to a Rena X3 and couldn't be happier. All the debris that would accumulate on the bottom is tossed back into the intake and gone! Can't beat a cansiter if ya ask me.. hehe

Thanks. We'll have to see how healthy it remains. So far so good. I removed the hornwort (demon plant... LOL) and replaced it with this other thicker stuff (don't know the name). The Moss Balls seem to be doing fine... actually, most of the plants seem to be doing fine (knock on wood).

The lighter plant (some type of sword??) is new, just got it today. But everything so far is good! thumbs2:

I love your sucky tanks Mith! I hope mine turn out that nice when they're done.

What substrate did you use in your cichlid tank?

Believe it or not, I have been lucky with my Calvus! Haven't lost any since getting them! They're very capable of taking care of themselves, even with my adult bumblebees! My littlest one swims around the tank like he owns it! I would recommend them to anyone! I may have 10-15 in the tank now.

I really really got lucky with the guppies! If I found more of the ones with the orange tails, I'd get more! Their hard to find though.....but I keep my eyes open of course!

I used...."cichlid" substrate. It has a LOT of crushed shells in it (to keep up the PH I presume). They seem to like it well enough as they dig in it all the time.
