I really like the dark one in the first pic but I couldn't seem to get a good shot of it.
The yellow one in the last pic is a Yellow lab no?
Would any of these varieties be okay with my daughter's Red Zebra female?
Yes to the yellow lab, and I am pretty positive they would be fine with the zebra. How big of tank?

First one: Not sure, could be a dark rusty or hybrid
Second one: OB hybrid mbuna
Third one: Some sort of hybrid
Fourth one: Looks like a kenyi
5th/6th ones: Yellow lab or yellow lab hybrid. The striped yellow one in that pic is a male kenyi
They should all be ok in with a red zebra. Watch for excessive aggression with the kenyi. What size tank are they in?

I don't have the fish yet. They're still at the store as of last night :-) I just wanted to be able to make a more informed decision before purchasing.
Right now all I have is a 20 gallon available. It's 24" long by 13 wide. Will I need to go bigger or is it possible to keep 4 or 5 in a 20?
Will an all female tank get along or should I get a male even if they are all different kinds? I'm not interested in breeding to sell anyway.

I'm very glad you have not yet purchased these fish as they all need to be kept in a 55g tank or larger. They need a footprint that is at least 48" long as they are very territorial and aggressive fish. If you just keep 4 or 5 you will end up with only one as the dominant one will kill off the others. Do you already have the red zebra in there? If so, you're stocked with just that one fish as she'll kill off anything else you put with her in that small of a tank.
Have you looked into shell dwellers? They're from Lake Tanganyika and would do very well in a 20g tank. You could also try a pair of kribs in a 20g but there are no mbuna that can go in that size of a tank, at least not with any other tankmates.

Well, I guess I'll have to wait a bit for mbuna. The Red Zebra will have a tank to herself until then :-)

I would not advise putting that many in a 20 gal. You already have a very agressive orange zebra in the tank, she will try to kill anything u put in.In your pics there is a kennyi male and female and this male will be very agressive also.you need at least a 55 gallon tank. Then you need lots of rock for caves. Pottery works well to. Or i have had luck with putting no rocks, just a empty tank, that way there are no territorys to fight over.
