how come some peoples reputation goes from on a distinguished road to unknown quantity?

We all start at distinguished, then randomly go to unknown quantity. Abbeys_mom and chrona went down, and so did i. How did this happen?

howcome noone is over distinguished besides william though? (william deserves every bit of it!) Is the only way to get by distinguished to buy more rep for 25,000 points?

I tried to steal 1 point from chrona 10 times in a row. It didnt work. I think thats why mine went down.

You get rep from other people. You can agree with peoples posts. I do it when I remember. There is a button at the top of each post with a picture of scales. You use that to agree or disagree with what someone has said.

And it only adds to someone's rep if you have rep. Meaning you can only increase rep if you have it yourself.

Have no idea. It went down today? Nothing going on here today that would have changed anything.

Do you know how to check your rep points? Click on the User CP at the top of the page and it will show who's given reps to you. I've been given reps and received nothing from it, as well, so I don't really understand how this works. I do know you have to have rep points to give rep points.

yeah, 6 people gave me rep points and i hit the scale and it said i have 0

Like I said, if they had none themselves, they don't count. The little square next to your name will be in green when they apply.

One sure doesn't want to buy reps. It's 25000 points but it expires in 30 days!!! So does immunity from others changing your user name, title and avator. Now I have found 3 more things I don't like in addition to the ability to be able to steal. I don't think these items should have a time frame on them.

You know, here I am trying to give cocoa rep points then start checking back and he's tried to steal points from me 3 times. sheeesh. This may be why he has no rep points. Possibly Abbey Moms correct and you loose them when you try that.

WTF, now some of my reps are gone. I just noticed jeffs disappeared. I still have six reps, even though i got 2 new ones, and on top of my user CP it says 0

It doesn't let you give it to a person you previously gave it to apparently. I've tried that as well altho it may have been months since I gave it to a person in particular. Maybe it has to be someone not appearing on the list.

When I look in my user CP, I have had 4 people give me points yet I only have 3 points, also floored is the only one with the green light on in the box beside the givers name.

You have to be able to give rep more then once. I have 2 from Jeffs99dime. I have a total of 26, but only the last 5 show up.

Truthfully, I don't think this feature has ever worked properly. William has gone in manually before and given reps when it was messed up before.

Mine from you are also blanked out. I just gave you and crack a rep. See if it worked from me.

I have now been able to give rep twice to the same person. I think you have to have 20 or so people in between.

This clears up a few things, the reps from you guys are both highlighted green, and my points have gone from 3 to 9, so I am guessing that someone with a green, gives 3 points when they give good rep.

What I wonder is how Northern Boy got so many rep points when this feature doesn't seem to work very well. I think he got so many from the old forum that was carried on into here apparently which they should have.

But, I do believe when you try to steal points, those you have are taken away or at least, a majority of them. That much I can conclude to.

It's in the shopping menu under Immunity. I didn't know it was there either. I saw it when I went in there to buy immunity from thief of points and there it was. H*** no I would not steal someones rep points. It's hard enough to get them but if you can steal them and pay to have immunity so it can't be done, it should not have an expiration period.

OK......read your post again and I see what you're saying. I didn't know it until this thread come up and our discussion here. Still not sure this is what happens. This was purely speculation.

or under your post count theres a little colored square, and it will say something like unknown quantity or distinguished road if you put the arrow over it
