It's Oct 1 and I've got water hyacinth in my pond under a garden blanket and want to set up a 2 gallon aquarium to overwinter one in a south facing sunroom. I just want to keep it alive till spring so I can return it to the pond as soon as the water temperature is high enough. It's now 60 degrees. Could I just fill it half way, add a heater, thermometer, & bubbler with charcoal held down with glass wool? I don't want it to grow, just stay alive. Do I need to do anything else?
Thanks!
