Platty and Guppy breeding confusion

I have a tank which contains 1 Black Moor goldfish, 1 Fantail goldfish, 4 Female coldwater plattys, 4 female Coldwater Guppies and 1 White Cloud Minnow none of these fish Exceed 2 inches and somehow the plattys and guppies keep falling pregnant any ideas how?

They were most likely impregnated when you got them. Guppy and platy can save sperm from one fertiliztion and use it to spawn several batches of fry,

thats neat so if i buy them from a store they will give me fry?

They can if they been fertilized in the store. If you by a female Guppy for example you will most likely get several batches of fry even if you don't get a male.

oh, well, i bred these guppies myself from a mate who gave them to me and when the female was impregnated i seperated her in a guppy tank she gave birth i imedietly seperated the babies and i guess they must have inbred

as for the plattys i had numerous females and bought a male and put him in a hwile ago then seperated him so that would explain it if the females can store sperm
