I've seen a couple of places on this forum to use lettuce leaves to attract and remove snails. Put in the leaf, leave it overnight, then pull it out and throw it away with the snails aboard.

Do you have to put the lettuce on the substrate, or can you hang it from a "veggie clip" on the glass?

I have a TON of unwanted snails in my tank, and if I can eliminate most of them without using chemicals, that would be ideal!!

I think you'll have more success placing the lettuce on the substrate, but you might have some success using the veggie clip...but it might take longer too...

My tank is 24" deep, and it isn't easy to reach the bottom.

If on the substrate works better, I'll just roll up my sleeves and reach in!

stick a fork through the lettuce and tie a piece of fishing line or something similar to the fork. Then run the line to the top of your tank.

Actually, I have a lo-o-o-ng handled planting tool that reaches to the bottom of the tank. I'll spear the lettuce on the end, and just put the whole thing in.

Should have thought of that earlier.
