So, my peacock female spit about 7 or 8 fry...she is only a couple inches big. The fry are in a 10 gallon holding tank. Problem is I have ghost shrimp in there....will they eat the fry? I have them in there just to clean up flakes because I heard I am supposed to feed the fry crushed flakes 3 times a day....help! Will my fry get eaten by the ghost shrimp? Or am i just overly worried?

I think you will be fine but I haven´t tried the combo
I also have ghost shrimp. They're awefully small and their claws are micro. I would agree with Williams in that your safe, but they do eat meat so in theory I suppose they could catch a slow fry.....but like I said, their claws are so tiny I think your fry would be ok.
I'm fairly new to all this so I'm only speculating.
Congrats on your fry! That's wonderful!!
Your fine, they wont get eaten.

Thanks....I am happy with your responses....however lol...I posted on another forum site- "cichlid forum" and some of them are saying my fry will get eaten....so who knows, I guess time will tell....the fry seem too fast for my nervous ghost shrimp anyways....I will have to put my faith in you guys :)

I think it all depends on your ghosties...I had this guy catch and consume his tankmate who was healthy and swimming around just seconds before I took this pic. I couldn't believe it so I had to get photographic evidence.

And yes, that is a pic of a cannibalistic ghost shrimp.

Ghosts will eat fry if they can get ahold of them. They're surprisingly agile and quite adept at using those little claws to grab things out of the water. I believe that the GS are considered 'long arm' shrimp. With long arms there's always a chance that something you don't want eaten, will get eaten. I wish you luck.

wow he ate the other shrimp live? that's nasty lol. Is that becausr the shrimp wasn't getting enough food, and resorted to cannibalism?

Well that explains a LOT! I THOUGHT I was losing ghost shrimp! LOL. I swear I had 20....now I only see 8 or so!
I still say a fry would be safe, but I'm the last person with any credibility on this board LOL

They had plenty of food, they'd catch the flake food as it came down. I don't know what possessed him to hunt down the other one, never saw it happen again, but the ghosties all slowly disappeared until it was just him left. Previously I had attributed it to the fish in the tank.
