it's nice of you to give them their own tv so they can keep up with their favorite sport.

Very funny and cute!!!

Maybe they are thinking "If I only had some arms, I'd really beat the you know what out of my tankmate!"

With my dogs, I always tell them "think how different your life would be if you only had thumbs!" Okay... okay. I actually sing a song to them about all the things they could do if they only had thumbs. (yeah, I'm weird but my dogs love me anyhow!)

Do you find that the oscars pay more attention to what's going on in their room more than other fish? I was surprised when we got our mbunas how much more alert they are than our others... and I like how my goldies watch me (but I don't think with as much "thought" as the cichlids by any stretch).

I find oscars to be a very curious fish. They follow my every move!lol
I find they even listen to me at times! If one is chasing the other all i do is get up or drop my foot on the floor. They both stop and look at me and say words that cannot be spoken here and start swimming around side by side again.:hmm3grin2orange:
They are easily my favorite fish!thumbs2:

I have always found cichlids very “personable” – they are much more aware of what’s outside the tank than other fish, and my Oscar used to visibly react to me entering his line of sight. (He’d react to anyone coming near, but I got a special “dance” as the Giver of Food.) That awareness is my main reason for keeping cichlids – they look you in the eye, and you sense there's something going through their minds when they do.

Now if they start fighting over the REMOTE, you've got a problem!! :hmm3grin2orange:

Awesome pics, BTW.

Thats awesome! I kind of have the same set up as you, the tv is right next to the tank. Occasionally they'll wonder over and check it out, but thats the same side as the over flow, that generally is more interesting to them lol

NG..do you ever just put the remote control in the tank so the Oscars can choose their own station? I think they may enjoy American football, too! :sconfused:
