at petco, i saw they had bamboo fully submerged and for sale in aquariums. can you really do that? For my neon tank, it'd be cool to have 10 stalks growing.

Bamboo isnt an underwater plant. It would probobly rot after a while.

crap. Theirs looked healthy.
May as well throw in a real dumb question.
How does a UGF with powerheads work? (stupid, i know)
I know the powerheads sucks water out of the UGF tubes, so how does the crap get under the UGF plate?

The bacteria and stuff builds on the top and in the gravel. If you use a reverse flow UGF, then it builds under the plate.

There is a bamboo for aquariums, but I would try it. Doesn't sound like fun.

I was thinking conventional bamboo. ie, what pandas eat.
