Any Glass Experts?

Hello All,

I purchased some glass today to replace the tank hood as I intend to add extra lighting at some point. The only problem is that the glass does not fit as it is 2-3 millimeters to large. This is preventing it to dropping down into the position that I would like. So I was wondering if this product (http://www.mscjlindustrial.co.uk/CGI/INSRIT?PAMODE=*RFSH) will allow me to remove the extra unwanted 2-3 millimeters of glass from the edges. Your link didn't work. If you're planning on cutting the glass down yourself, I would recommend a special "glass cutting dremmel", it's a small tool that goes onto an air compressor. If it's only a few milimeters, it should be easy to "shave off" the excess glass. Make sure you wear a mask tho, you don't want to breathe in any glass.

If you need that much taken off the edge you will have to get it sanded down at a glass shop.Thats too small to cut!
It won't cost much.

Yeah, Glass Shop is your best bet. You can get it done while you wait and if they break it they'll replace it. You break it and you're screwed.

Not sure why the links I posted didn't work sorry I have posted it again. So just to clarify using one of the below to remove just 2 - 3 millimeters from the edge of some glass is not a viable option? The only reason I ask is that if I was to do this at home rather than take it to a glass shop I would be able to test if I had taken enough off. I do not want to take too much as that will mean having to buying a new bit of glass although it was not expensive. I am talking about small measurements here removing 5 - 6 millimeters instead of just 2 -3 might be to much.
