Seems like there has been a strain of bad luck going around especially on the AC. Heres to better luck everyone.
I was away for a couple days and had my brother come over and feed my fish.
Just once in 3 days, i fed them tonight and noticed that a root tab was on top
of the substrate nowhere near where it should be, called my brother and asked him specifically which package he got the "algae wafers" from. wrong one, he
fed my fish root tabs. They ate their share too. Is this ok? Will they be fine? I
know it's gotta be safe in the water but eating it??

I'd be surprised if your fish actually ate them. They can't taste all that great. Hopefully you'll find the others unless they dissolved. I'd do a large water change tho or you may end up with algae from all the ferts.

I'm surprised too, the little buggers will eat root tabs but won't touch veggies?? I didn't even think of algae, thanks Lady Hobbs. Hopefully some good will come
from this and plants will have a growth spurt lol

Most likely the tabs began to dissolve, and just looking like they were nibbled at.
Large Water change is in order. not sure what type of tabs you use but depending on the breakdown and how many were put into the tank you could have about with algae.

And make a diagram for your brother next time.

It's API Pro series plus iron root tabs. There were two in the tank one was still
fairly intact the other was falling apart and 2 platies were pickin up the crumblies
around it.
lol oh, there won't be a next time. From now on its going to be me and me
only that goes near that tank at least until he goes thru the intensive 2 week
training course, which only will cover the bare basics.
The fish seem perfectly normal today, so no harm done i think, but i will keep
an eye on them.
I did a 40% waterchange lastnight thanks to lady Hobbs and will do another
later on today. A bit of algae wouldn't be a horrible thing seein as my gold
nugget wont even look at veggies and rarely goes for algae tabs.
Thanks everyone

Hey, no harm done. You reacted appropriately by asking here and accepting the advice given to do a large water change.thumbs2:
Don't be too hard on your brother. The important thing is that he will learn something from the experience from a more informed teacher. That teacher is you! :22:

lol he already knows all about the nitrogen cycle and all the bacterias and what
they do because of me telling him why its not the easiest hobby to start.
"Next Lesson: Feed fish, fish food not plant food:"
And to think i gave him a key to the house lol.
