Ok, I was just starting to make a movie of my aquarium when I see this small orange thing zoom across the tank. Then I found it again, it is a baby PLATY. I cannot believe it, I am so excited. I do not know what to do.
I dropped in the Tetra-Min Baby Food for Livebearers, it was given to me with the tank when I bought it.
What should I do?
Is there going to be more then one?
He keeps going under the driftwood, I do not wanna lift it and scare him, but is there going to be more?
Will my other fish eat them? I have a 10g I could set-up asap, should I?
Thanks for any help!:19: :19: :19: :19:

there own parents will eat them so I would try to get him/her out of that tank. If there where other babies they are probibly dead by now. Dont worry livebearers spawn like crazy.

You are funny and your post sounds like a new parent for sure. It would depend on what other fish you have in the tank but I wouldn't move it. Just make sure there are losts of plants and hiding spots.
I would flip if I had a new baby of some kind! Had the same bloody fish for over a year and they are all gay, I guess, as I've yet to have even one measly fry.

Honestly. Wouldn't you think with about 75 fish that something would do something just once!

There is lots of plants, driftwood, and decorations.
I do not have a Male Platy, and I have had all of them since Feburary!

you can either leaved the fry, hopeing it will survive.or remove it into a breeding net/trap.use a net or a turkey baster to catch it.(turkey baster to such it up)
they were probally more, but they have either been eaten, or are hiding.if this one dont survive, the platies will have more in about 28 days time.
for a side note, in your 30 gallon, you need to get more kuhlii loaches, otocinclus and amano shrimp. they like to live in bigger groups.kuhliis need sand, which you might have. 3+ of each is good. you rasboras need to be bigger groups too, but 3 is ok for now, usally 5+ is the recomended.
and your clown loach will out grow your tank. they need much bigger tanks and also like to be in groups. your platies are fine though, usally the ratio of males to females is 1 male to 2/3 females.
edit for reading your last post - female can store sperm and have fry later, dont know how your females could have stored sperm fo rthat long and not had fry yet, maybe they had some before, but you didnt see them. with out a male, you females will have less fry each time and eventually have none.

Yes, they work, I have a net which sticks onto the side of my tank with two baby Endler's livbearers in, they aresafe from my Betta and their parents, the two who were not born in the net both died.
