How long are Rosy Barbs pregnant? I've had her in a separate tank with the male for over a month. Our class is tired of waiting. Any suggestions or info?

If youre trying to get them to breed, try a different male. sometimes the female just hates the male. make sure your temperature is 77F and the fish arent stressed

It's hard to find a male. I just got lucky and happened to have one. I've tried to find another male, but with no luck. I did turn the heater up. It was at 72 degrees. We'll see if the warmer water helps. What happens if I don't find a new male? What will the female do? She has to release the eggs at some point, right?

she may breed with a different one. Theyre egg scatterers

And if I do NOT get another male?

If theyre in a small space they'll get stressed and may even resort to fighting eachother. Sometimes some fish just wont breed. It took me 4 years to find the perfect match to breed albino corydoras

But she's already HUGE with eggs. Is she just going to stay that way and is that even healthy?

if its been a while, she may be just fat from overfeeding. Try not feeding her for a week to help her lose weight

I really don't think that she's just fat. She just went 4 days without food over Easter and none of the other fish are large. I'll try to get a picture on here so you can see. I really think she is full of eggs. I just don't know what to do to get her to lay them. She has to lay them, right? She can't stay like this forever.

Sorry if this pic doesn't work, but I'm going to try.
