Hey there.
Got a question. I am currently setting up a terrarium for carnivorous plants but I thought about doing half the tank above water and half with water and putting in a few small fish just for show.
Have anyone here done this before? would realy like to get a few ideas about the setup. Or just any ideas about it no matter what really...
Thanks for the help as usual.

Have you looked at viquariums.
They usually have a reptiles of sorts but I think some small fish would look good too.
I beleive Fishguy here has one on the go!

Do a google search for vivariums...you'll find some that have water features. I think that is what you are looking for. Here's a build ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]) but no fish in it.
As the previous poster said, most tend to be for reptiles/amphibians. Especially those pretty dart frogs :D

I have done vivariums in the past. They can be beautiful but are also a handful in the maint dept.
check this sight out.I have a photo album there under smaug that shows how to build one. There is also some great info and links to some very good supply houses that deal in viv/ter plants and frogs.

I've seen this done before. Looks really good if you do it right.
What sized tank are you using?
IMO one of the best ways to do this kind of thing is to get a custom piece of plexi glass cut to fit inside your tank but only half the height of the tank then secure it in place with aquarium silicon. On one side you can put the water and fish, on the other side put a mix of peat moss perlite and potting soil.
Since the setup will be high humidity you need to make sure you use the correct plants. Most carnivorous plants are bog plants so they will be fine. Bromeliads, ferns and spider plants are also great looking.
One tank I saw setup like this actually had a large piece of driftwood that hung over the water with an orchid growing on it that stuck out the top. VERY cool.
Make sure you take lots of pics!!

Thanx for the replies.
Thought about getting some of those awesome little frogs but they are illegal to keep here. Can't even find them. Guess the people in SA never realy got into the amphibian thing.
I'm am thinking about using a 65 gallon tank. About half above ground and the other half water.
Any thoughts on Mudskippers? They are almost amphibian....
