They spend the day on the table, so they can see all the daily activities. I move the cages here, minus the bottoms. They play or perch in several areas, that have popped up all over the house. Then, after supper, they go to their room to settle down and sleep. I should have it so good!!!:ssmile:

I love your cages! I wish I could find some like that. I want a parakeet so bad but I have to be desensitized first. I'm allergic.

Nice clean house, too! Good for you. Proof positive you can actually have a clean house and birds. But they will probably be considered spoiled when they get their own TV.

Thanks...I do like a clean house. They don't have their own TV, but I do choose programs that Levi likes, for his daily "sit" in front of the speaker. He likes talk shows, news, and cartoons. :ssmile:

That's great!! I thought ours were spoiled since they have their own room!! I can't show this to them or they may start a revolution or something!!

Mine used to love to sit on the curtain rods so they could poop all over my curtains and windows. :(

That's why all my birds are clipped...it restricts the poop to certain areas... there's only so much I can handle!:hmm3grin2orange:

You know...they don't poop as much as you think they do, once they grow up and/or get comfortable with you. I rarely get pooped on any more by Pekoe and Ever...but Nickel is still not as fussy about pooping on me.

The 'tiels are a bit more 'poopy'...but not bad...

I have no issue clipping wings for training purposes...but am not a fan of keeping birds clipped. I think they need to fly for their mental health. Ever is not a flier...she prefers to walk or taxi service...but she is getting better at landing the odd time she does take off...and I swear - she looks so PROUD of herself when she does fly!:hmm3grin2orange:

I agree, Rue, on principle. Birds do have a right to flight. My problem with keeping them flighted, is that their time out of the cage would be more restricted. There's the poop issue, and I really couldn't deal with it getting everywhere. Also, I would be afraid that one would get away, or get hurt. Although, Abbey and Sadie aren't into everything, Levi has a talent for getting into trouble. He's very inquisitive and is afraid of nothing! For me, it's not worth the risk. I do think a bird in flight is a beautiful thing, though....:ssmile:

A[Only Registered Users Can See Links.]'re not spoiled....they're enriched. Nothing wrong with that.
I like the way they have a view of the fish tank when in their cages.

You're a great 'bird mommy'

Now there's an interesting thought!:hmm3grin2orange:

I wonder, if birds were given a choice, would they choose a good home in a cage, or a life in the wild. Both would have advantages and disadvantages....

Your birds definitely have the good life sharon! No question.thumbs2:

The question you mentioned is one I do find I ask of myself a lot in reference to pets. Its what you might call a moral dilemma, pet keeping
