I finally got some decent pics of my F1 Peruvian oscars...well just the female this time the male wasnt being cooperative. Very difficult to get photos of fish in this tank due to the lighting being somewhere around 20watts lol

Are those the smaller type oscars?
I have never seen those before!

Nope, that fish is a good 13" long and nearly 4" thick. Its just a wild caught fish, hence it looks a bit different that other ocellatus that come form domestic stock.

The smaller "oscar" is Astronotus crassipinnis, dont own any but I would one day love to have a 6ft tank with 8-10 of them:22:

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Wonderful photos, Jenn, and great fish. They are poster children for the glory of wild caught fish.

Thanks guys :22: I doubt I will own any domestically bred Oscars again, wild or F1 is definatly the way to go...they also seem to just be generally healthier than alot of the generations long tank reared fish I see come threw the LFS.
