Lemon Tetras are MEAN!

I really enjoyed watching my lemon tetras for about a week and they were my favorites untill today. I bought 2 oto cats last night and the lemons are bullying them! My otos are just chilling on the rock and the lemons keep swimming up to them and bumping them. The otos just stay right where they are and don't swim off or move or anything. Its almost as if the lemons are "testing" them to see if they will fight back. I feel sorry for the little otos. I guess I need to get some bigger fish in there to show the lemons whose boss! I keep catching myself yelling "hey stop that" at the lemons like they can hear me...Anyway, just venting!!

If all you get is just bumping, then consider yourself fairly lucky. I've had so many *peaceful* fish fight for no apparent reason it's not even funny....lol. My cardinals still spar from time to time, and I'm considering buying a vat of Melafix to repair the fin damage at this point. In any case, it's most likely just curiosity, as lemon tetras are supposed to be very peaceful.

I'm thinking the otos are really smart because whenever the lemons start teasing the otos just sit there like they don't care... Its like they are ignoring the lemons just to get the best of them:hmm3grin2orange: The lemons will probably give up after a while.

I remember before my krib died the krib would chase the auratus around when food came, and the auratus was supposed to be the bully. Eventually, the krib just gave up.

I had the same problem with my serpaes. You should consider a fish about twice
the size of the tetras that won't eat it to scare them or add more tetras.
