Actually I'm not familiar with the common name "trident sharks" and I checked fish base but it isn't listed so I can't really help you. Do you have another name for them or a scientific name?

Gold gouramis are not to hard to breed but you have to keep a close eye on your pair as the male might become very rough with the female. First make sure that your mle and female is in breeding condition by feeding them a good and varied diet. you should than put the male and femle in a densely planted tank with low water levels 4-6 inches and a sligtly higher temperture than usuall. Keep water circulation to a minimum. The male should than hopefully start building a bubble nest where the fish spawn.

The fry are very small and need small food such as infusoria the first period of their life.

It's easy. Look at the upper (dorsal) fin. the male has a longer pointy fin the female a shorter rounder fin.

that would be the fin on top of the fish in middle of the back right?

Im confused here lol I was talking bout my gourmi because they both have rounded fins but i know for sure one is a male and the other is female

The trident Shark i found out is the tridecent Shark hope that helps.

How large are your Gourami? The difference might not show if they are young.

I am sorry but tridecent Shark doesn't help and searching on google for tridecent Shark reveals 0 matches. (I guess you'lls oon find this forum for the term). Did you click on "These" in my above post and looked at the picture if those are the shark you got. They are called Iridescent Shark which are somewhat similar to tridecent Shark.

Ok. In that case. Forget about breeding them. They grow to be 4 ft long and can way almost 100lbs which as you can understand mean that you would need a very large aquarum to host adults and try to breed them.

But I will hopefully have a large enough tank for them by then ;-)

I love large fish and will msot likely get a monster tank once I stop traveling this much in a couple of years.
