lost a tiger barb yesterday

I dnt knw what happened.... yesterday I did a water change 25% as I always do everyother week.... I counted the fish right after cause one time I sucked one tiger into the bucket LOL so I saw all the fish were there fine.....
today I woke up and turn the tank llights onn and there was one dead fish all decomposed or EATEN I dnt knw and i couldnt find out wich one was it cause it was alll messed up already so I counted my fish I found out it was a tiger barb...... I checked the water and ammonia is 0 nitrites 0...... I think the other tigers killed this one cause they would always exclude one from the group I had 4 and they would only swin in a group of 3 so I think they might have killed the forth one.... it was the smallest one of all 4....

Chances are you are correct. My barbs used to fight amongst themselves nonstop. Sorry to hear that though

I used to have Tiger Barbs. The rule of thumb I learned is they like to be in odd number groups. So 3's 5's etc... I also had one by itself and it did good. But supposedly it's all about the odd numbers.

when I first read tht some time ago I didnt think it was true cause it makes no sense but since I got the 4 they would always exclude one from the group I was gonna get another one but since they were always fighting against themselves I didnt want to get one bigger or smaller then the ones I have and I couldnt find the same size...
ohh well it sucks but it makes me feel a little better tht this time it was not my fault and the water parameters are perfect

yeaa... LOL they fixed my problem for me... but I will be getting 2 more cause I think 3 only is not enough because they are not schooling anymore they always swim everywhere alone and they are bothering all the fish now and before they would swim 3 together and one alone

I have a 40g
one angel almost full grown
3 black skirts one is about 2 1/2 in other 2 is about 1 1/2 inch
I have 3 pristella tetras about 2 inches each and one black phantom tetra ( tht schools with the pristella LOL)
3 platys about 2 inches each
the 3 barbs about 1 inch each
one Pictus cat 3 inches and I will give it away if it gets too big
2 corydoras cat about 1 1/2 each
one shark dnt knw what kind people at the pet shop said it was a ANGELICA SHARK or something like tht its 3 inches and I will most likely have to bring it back cause I think it will get too big for my tank... it was in a community tank there so I wanted to give it a try on my tank and its doing fine it swims with my Pictus cat all the time... they were in the same tank there I think thts why they stay together....
I will try to post a pic of the shark later today do u guys can try to ID it for me cause he might be the one who killed the tiger since I dnt knw anything about it but I dnt it is... he seems very peaceful
