Would a Betta eat Cherry Shrimp?

I wasn't sure if I should put this under Invertebrates or Bettas. The LFS is getting some Cherry Shrimp in next week and I was wondering if they would be ok with my Betta.

i saw those in vancouver. If theres plants and rocks for the shrimp to hide in, you should be fine.

I am wondering if Kribs would eat them as well. I know the shrimp breed like mad and I was thinking that I would add some to my 27g as well. I know my other Kribs eat ghost shrimp without any trouble, but Cherries are bigger.

Krib+cherry shrimp= no shrimp, 1 krib.

cherry shrimp arnt bigger than ghost shrimp.
a krib would eat the cherries.
as for the betta, probally wouldn't, enough plants,rock, caves etc for the shrimp to retreat to should be fine. the young shrimplets however, might be eaten by the betta, a good way of keeping population down.

My apologies for jumping in here and asking a similar question, but it seems pointless to start a new post for this. Ghost shrimp and/or bamboo shrimp--okay generally with a male betta? Looking at a single male betta and shrimp or maybe a cory or two in a 5.5 gallon. Thanks!

Ghost shrimp is iffy, Bamboo shrimp in ok, but the tank might be too small. I had a bamboo shrimp in with my betta and the shrimp popped out of the tank. I think he just didn't have the room he needed.

5.5 gallons for a bettas and a few shrimps probally would work, given enough hiding places and plants for the shrimp to retres to,
also, instead of buying 2 cories, as cories need to be in bigger groups, buy a shoal of 4-5 pygmy cories.they are better suited to smaller tanks.

I don't think you would actually want your baby cherries getting eaten. They sell rather well, actually, heh.
