Im not totally sure what happened here folks, but heres the deal. I just recently treated for ich and everything is fine there. Then, following the directions on the bottle, i did a 50% water change, AND, I also figured i may as well clean my ornaments AND gravel too. So, that being done, i installed 2 new filters in my HOB, and continued on.
A day or two later, i get this white haze,(my guess would be a bacterial bloom) all throughout the tank. To note, i can barely see a foot into the tank lookin into it sideways. I think im more stressed than the fish at this point. Ive tried several small water changes, and even some chemical from my LFS that said it would combat my issue. Well, it did nothing and im stressed now more than ever.
Im leary on doing another big water change for the fact that it may get worse. Help need asap here. :(:help:

You are experiencing a set-back in your tank from removing too much biological factor from over-cleaning and changing out your filter media all at once. It may remain like this for several days until you can produce this bioload again and may also show ammonia levels again, altho not as high as when you did your first cycle. If you still have the filter media you replaced and can put it back in for a few days, that would help but I realize it's most likely been tossed away. Stress zyme will help get this bioload again but if you don't have any, just monitor your water for several days to watch for ammonia and nitrites spikes and do no more cleaning.

I was worried about that. Its been a while that our waters been like this though. When i get in later tonight, ill be sure to add what i have left of the stresszyme.
Thanks for the input.

Damn hobby can stress u out! Maybe i'll take a swig of the stresszyme before adding it.

I did the same thing a time or two in being the cleaning freak that I am. Tanks can go thru this NTS (new tank syndrome) for several months with the same results ...from too much cleaning. Altho fungus medications can also set it back, ICK medications don't seem to bother so I don't think it was due to your meds.

I used to be like that. If i saw a piece of waste floating around i would have the siphon and bucket ready in 10 seconds.
